WOODEN LOW-ENERGY HOUSE IN STRMEC

A trend of designing and construction of low-energy (and passive) houses is on its rise, indicating awareness of our investors for innovative ecological solutions in architecture by using materials that positively affect the life quality and contribute to the healthier life in general. A house of 120 m2 in Strmec, Samobor, which construction is in progress, is built entirely of natural material – wood.

UPI-2M DESIGN BOOKS REVIEW 2012

UPI-2M design was featured in many publications during the year 2012. Four great book titles bring our projects Arena Zagreb and Culture Club Revelin together with some world known architects and practices such as OMA Architects, Zaha Hadid, Santiago Caltrava, BIG Architects, Snohetta, Fosters, SOMAA. A book BOUTIQUE RESTAURANTS from series ‘World Interior Design’, published by Phoenix is a collection of some of the most creative restaurant designs in the world, including “45 works from extraordinary designers, architects and design company. Each project is shown in terms of the whole space layout and detail in the space with words of the design specifications and design highlights, which make readers learn the design concept thoroughly and get intuitive reference value”. UPI-2M project Culture Club Revelin is a part of this book. ARCHITECTURE REPORT 2012, published by Rihan CC represents a systematic review of recent world architecture highlights. A book is divided in 4 segments – commercial, office, landscape design and sports venues with Arena Zagreb here introduced.

NEW INTERIOR DESIGN OF THE FRENCH INSTITUTE IN ZAGREB

French Institute Mediatheque in the very center of the Zagreb city exists for 90 years and serves as a center for culture, education and art exhibitions to all citizens, also, with largest collection of french newspapers, magazines, books and exercises. it is equipped with new modern technology and multimedia services (IT Board interactive whiteboard, iPad’s, Wi-Fi), and a new on-line services; today it is a cozy and warm space open to all, artists, intellectuals, students, professors. All mentioned requested the brand new interior refreshment.

ARENA ZAGREB – THE FIRST HAND STORY ON the 3rd ZAGREB DAYS OF ARCHITECTURE

Zagreb Architecture Association launched the 3rd Zagreb Architecture Days – a manifestation that through 6 days program promotes and celebrates architectural realizations in the city of Zagreb, this year with a special accent to Zagreb as a European city. Alan Leo Plestina, on a behalf of UPI-2M author team presented the story on creating and building the multifunctional hall Arena Zagreb. Participants had an opportunity also to visit and being introduced with the significant buildings in Zagreb and speak on details with their authors.
